Two siblings whose childhood played out on the sands of Cabo Polonio, full of sun and surf. Wanting to stay for good, Salty House was born in 2020.
Committed to preserving what makes this place unique, we think of Salty House as somewhere you'll find comfort and sustainability together: our electricity comes from solar panels, and our water from rain wells.
We invite you to long walks, ocean dips, guitar nights, board games, and to be part of an exchange that enriches us all — good vibes, always, with the sea in the background.
Location
Salty House sits right on Playa Norte, just steps from Playa de la Calavera and close to the center of Cabo Polonio.
Cabo Polonio has no named streets or regular vehicle access: you get here by 4x4 truck from Route 10, or on foot along the beach. Once in town, just ask for Salty House — everyone knows it.
Directions on Google MapsFAQ
Via Route 10 to kilometer 264.5, where the "Puerta del Polonio" terminal is. From there, cars must be left behind (private vehicles aren't allowed in) and you cross the dunes in specially equipped 4x4 trucks, which take about 40 minutes to cross the sand. A round-trip ticket costs $470 UYU per person, usually paid in cash. Salty House is just steps from the truck terminal inside the cape — just follow the signs.
